Introduction
Electrogalvanized (EG) steel is steel that has been coated in essentially pure zinc via an electrolytic process. The material has good corrosion resistance and extremely good surface quality, which makes it a key material of choice for exposed automotive components, including door and fenders. EG steel offers an excellent surface for painting.
ArcelorMittal’s MartINsite® products are available in tensile strength grades from 900 to 1700 MPa with an electrogalvanized coating, offering some of the highest strength levels available in the marketplace. Electrosite® is a family of martensitic steels from ArcelorMittal having an electrogalvanized coating for superior corrosion protection.
