Line pipe and OCTG

ArcelorMittal is the leader in delivering a variety of steel grades and solutions to line pipe and Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) customers, meeting the most sophisticated requirements. We meet Made & Melt in USA requirements. Our line pipe portfolio includes all API grades through X-80, including sour service applications. These grades are available in both hot rolled coils and plates in a variety of thicknesses and widths.

Wind energy

Steel is used to create many parts of the wind tower from the base up to the gearbox, but the most obvious steel component is the tower itself. ArcelorMittal can supply plates and hot rolled steels for this application whether the application is onshore or offshore.

Solar energy

Solar panel mounting structures are designed to perform in the geographic area of installation based on corrosion requirements and wind loading. Cost and longevity are key inputs to the designs. Heavy zinc coatings are available in a variety of strength levels to allow for more flexibility in design. High-concentrating PV requires heavy duty structures and tracking hardware to enable the design efficiencies. Thick steel boxes and heavy tubular structures are commonly specified. Concentrated solar thermal power requires precision positioning of mirrors to accurately focus the sun light. Stiffness and strength are important as is resistance to corrosion and abrasion. Molten salt used for energy capture and transfer is extremely corrosive and special steels are required to contain it. ArcelorMittal has material solutions ready to address your design challenges.

Oil and gas (offshore, storage tanks, LNG)

ArcelorMittal USA supplies the oil and gas industry with plate products for the construction and maintenance of offshore platforms and onshore facilities including refineries, petrochemical, liquid natural gas (LNG), and fuel storage. Recommended products include 9Ni, API 2Y and ABS grades.

Transmission

Transmission towers and light poles require long life and protection against corrosion. Weathering steels have copper additions that promote the development of a protective oxide for increased corrosion life. Recommended products include weathering steels and Amstrong® Ultra.
