How to apply

Community investment in the United States

Application process

At this time, we accept applications by invitation only. We identify community organizations providing programs in at least one of our three focus areas, the communities where our employees live and work and where we feel we can make the most impact.

Invited applicants

If you have been invited to apply for an ArcelorMittal grant, please access the ArcelorMittal Grant Application.

Existing grantees

To review existing or historic grants, continue an in-process application, view and submit grant reports, log in to your online account.

Please note: You will not be able to start a new application from your online account portal. To submit a new grant proposal, please use the link above for invited applicants.

Interested organizations

If you have not yet been invited to apply for a grant but feel you fit our giving criteria and should be considered, you must first submit a letter of inquiry (LOI). Please do not send a completed application. Before submitted a LOI, please read carefully our funding guidelines to determine eligibility alignment with our focus areas. Your LOI narrative should be no more than two pages and clearly outline the mission of your organization, detail the project or program you will seek funding for and state why you believe it fits within ArcelorMittal's giving guidelines. Please include a brief sentence explaining your expected outcomes, community being served and how you will measure the program. Submit an LOI.

Grant reporting

ArcelorMittal requires annual grant outcome reports. Every calendar year, we report globally on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and utilize all of our grantee metrics in these reports. Grant outcome report due dates will be outlined in all grant transmittal letters and are required before we will consider a new request. If you have any questions or concerns about when to submit your year end grant outcome report, please contact your local corporate responsibility manager directly. Submit your organization's final Grant Report.

Award decision process and communications

Grant requests that provide programs or services to a specific community near an ArcelorMittal facility are reviewed by a Council for Stronger Communities at that facility and submitted to the ArcelorMittal USA corporate responsibility leadership team and governance Board of Directors for final approval. Grant decisions are communicated by email usually within 30 days of application submission.
